[:en]The isolated village Chitlang is a beautiful small Agro based village on the outskirts of Kathmandu Valley, politically lies on Makwanpur district. It is about 22 km from Kathmandu in the South West direction. Inscriptions dating back to Lichchavi era have been found in this Place. According to inscription found in Toukhel, ward no. 6 of Chitlang VDC, King Amshubarma (sambat 37) had given the land to Shepherds and established a settlement for shepards in Toukhel, Nhulgaun, Kunchhaletc of Chitlang. These people called Gopalis and they are the descendants of rulers of the Gopal era.Newar Caste people are the major habitants of the village. Their main occupation is agriculture.
Chitlang is called by various names such as – Chitrapur, Shudhapur, Kolapur, Hastinapur, Champapur. The climate is ideal to visit at any time during the Year with warm days and cool nights.Chitlang Village is a rare destination for the visitors, Culturally, Naturally, Traditionally and Geographically. 45 minute drive to Thankot (PaniGhat) from Kathmandu and commence trek to Chitlang village. One & half hrs.Steep climb to ChitlangDeurali 2000m. Take a pack lunch, overview thebreathe taking panoramicHimalayan view and beautiful valley of Kathmandu city. Two hrs.Descend through the tropical forest to Chitlang village. Reach to village and check in at Home stay lodge. Explore the Chitlang village in the afternoon and overnight stay.
Wake up call at 6:30 AM, refreshment and take local breakfast. After Breakfast commence village tour with Pack Lunch. Visit to the traditional Newari home, goat farm test of goat cheese, local village school and back to homestay for dinner and overnight stay.
Chitlang – Markhu
Wakeup call at 6:30 AM,refreshment and take local breakfast will be served.After Breakfast cammence trek to Markhu.The trek will be along the village terraces cultivated filed/meeting local people and life style of the country side and reach camp at Markhu beside Kulekhani Lake (dam) for overnight stay.
Markhu – Kathmandu
As usual: refreshment and served breakfast. After Breakfast we drive back to Kathmandu. On the way visit the Dakshin Kali Hindu temple where many chicken and Goats are sacrificed every Tuesday and Saturday and continue to visit BudhistMonastary (Gompa) above Pharping. After visiting the temple and Gompa board to Kathmandu Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Mountain Flight (1hrs)
Mountain Flight over the Himalayas including Sagarmatha (Everest). Free afternoon forshopingetc and overnight hotel.
Transfer to airport and final departure for onwards Journeys.
