[:en]The isolated village Chitlang is a beautiful small Agro based village on the outskirts of Kathmandu Valley, politically lies on Makwanpur district. It is about 22 km from Kathmandu in the South West direction. Inscriptions dating back to Lichchavi era have been found in this Place. According to inscription found in Toukhel, ward no. 6 of Chitlang VDC, King Amshubarma (sambat 37) had given the land to Shepherds and established a settlement for shepards in Toukhel, Nhulgaun, Kunchhaletc of Chitlang. These people called Gopalis and they are the descendants of rulers of the Gopal era.Newar Caste people are the major habitants of the village. Their main occupation is agriculture.

Chitlang is called by various names such as – Chitrapur, Shudhapur, Kolapur, Hastinapur, Champapur. The climate is ideal to visit at any time during the Year with warm days and cool nights.Chitlang Village is a rare destination for the visitors, Culturally, Naturally, Traditionally and Geographically.
